Busy Week
This has been a busy week. I have been going through all my footage to check I have everything I need. I have also been acting and being crew for the rest of my 90% Bloopers Group for their Year 2 FMPs at College
So, on Tuesday I was acting for Harley all day in College. I much prefer being behind the camera, but I am used to performing on stage, so I am OK to do it if asked. I don’t think I’m particularly good at it, Jack is much better, but I’m happy to do my best. I was acting the Police Detective, Inspector L. Harley has great ideas, and is fun to work with. He has such a great sense of humour and I’m sure his film will be great.
We are such a strong group because we are all prepared to go out of our comfort zones to help each other.
Then another long day, into College early for the exterior filming of Harley’s film. After this, I was assisting Adam with filming a “live lounge band in the evening as part of his FMP, along with Ellie. We spent the afternoon getting set up, with lots of cameras to get lots of angles. We use the College JVC cameras as well. It was great. This is another thing that I would love to have been doing more of this year, but Covid just made it impossible.
Last year just before the first lockdown Adam and I were asked to assist the Drama department by filming one of their end of year productions. It was great, and I was excited to do more. I prefer filming Fiction but any chance to get behind a camera is great.
I know I keep mentioning Covid, but it gets everywhere and affects everything. I am very grateful not to have caught it, or had my parents catch it. I know some of our tutors did and it was not fun for them. But it did still have and is still having a huge effect on my life and that of my friends, especially regarding this course. As I say, I am still very grateful since it could have been so much worse. But that does not make it OK. There were going to be more opportunities like the Drama Department, and unfortunately Covid stopped that.
I can’t change it, it is what it is. I am trying to work round it as best I can and see it as an opportunity for problem solving. But I will be glad when we can get back to a more normality.
Back to Adam. We had a great evening. It was quite a late one, but so fulfilling. I was a camera operator and was glad to help and to be able to contribute to Adam’s Year 2 FMP.
