I feel comfortable with my decision not to pursue it at the time, since everything was so uncertain due to Covid. I had weighed up the pros and cons, and decided that the benefits of having an authentic museum location for the incompetent robbers idea was outweighed by the added layers of difficulty due to no one, not even the government, knowing what was happening with dates and Covid Restriction changes. I am ambitious, but not, I hope, foolhardy.
I am also thinking that maybe I could try and film my “Incompetent robbers” idea another time, after Year 2 FMP is over and at a time when there is hopefully less issues with Covid
I was curious, however. I have a friend whose sister, Rebecca, works at Hughenden Manor, so I asked what her opinion was, did I miss an opportunity?
She was really helpful. She suggested that she ask Rob, the person who would have made the decision. I wasn’t sure, since I didn’t want to bother them at a time when I am sure they have loads to do to get ready for re=opening. But she said that he was a really nice guy, and she was sure it would be ok.
She suggested that she be the one to ask him, so that she could explain that I am not actually asking to film right now, but I am wondering what he would have said if I had asked. Rebecca’s suggestion that she asked would avoid any confusion. I thought that was a good idea.
She kindly asked him, and, no surprise, his answer was unfortunately no.
However, he did offer to write it the explanation in an email for me, so that I had an official explanation that I could include here in my Year 2 FMP, which was very kind of him and he didn’t have to take the time to do so, Rebecca asked me for a the relevant information and she emailed it to Rob. Below are her email and his reply.
