FMP – Opening Credits conundrum
I have a conundrum. I am really pleased with how my opening credits are looking, with Sam P being followed by Sam F1, without the audience actually seeing the face of who is following Sam P. The music works really well, setting a good tone. I am pleased with the various graphics that I am doing in Postproduction to enhance this opening.
Everyone who I am showing my Opening Credit sequence to likes it, as do I. I have asked various people for feedback about my idea of linking the series together with a common opening credits sequence for the series, like Black Adder Series 2 does, where all the episodes start with a similar opening of a snake and then end with the item in the episode title, like “Potato” below.
I have planned to do something similar and have an opening sequence including the trilby hat relevant to that episode. But I now think that will distract from the opening of my time travel film. I now think that I have to change my plans and come up with another way to link the episodes.
FMP – Opening Credits conundrum – Solution
I have come up with a solution to this problem. Instead of an opening credits sequence, I am going to go more subtle. I have done a lot of research into End Credits backgrounds. I had been planning on having a plain black background, but I am thinking to use a background with faded out trilby hats on. This will link all the episodes together. And to highlight the trilby hat involved in each episode, there will be an End Credits scene with the main character and the main trilby, like I have made for my film.
I am really happy with this idea. It is much more appropriate for my film than my opening credits idea. I will mock up some possible backgrounds like this and then I want to ask for feedback to get some views on which works best, then I will decide based on this feedback.
